A special selection of original illustrations by David Labkovski (1906–1991), highlighting scenes from Sholom Aleichem’s stories—including Tevye the Dairyman, the inspiration for Fiddler on the Roof.

This exhibit invites you to witness the humor, heartbreak, and humanity of Eastern European Jewish life before the Holocaust—through the eyes of two artists devoted to telling their community’s story.
