The DLP is an engaged learning partner at Loyola Marymount University.

The Engaged Learning Program offers students the opportunity to participate in a ‘real world’ application of their studies.

This Fall, we have been working with students in Dr. Margarete Feinstein’s Literature of the Holocaust course.

Students have been working independently to read Labkovski’s narrative work, research the historical context, and then worked in groups to connect the individual pieces together to create an exhibit.  They have made connections between the artwork and the literature they are studying and to survivor testimony- giving Labkovski’s work deeper meaning.  These students have become wonderful curators of Labkovski’s work and will carry his message of bearing witness with them.

Their exhibit will be on display at LMU on November 5.  The exhibit will then move to The Los Angeles Jewish Home, Fountainview at Gonda.

Students will have the opportunity to give docent tours for the residents.  We hope you can join us for the exhibit on the 5th!
